In the current state of the world, the future can feel very uncertain for many. But hello, now is the best time learn Japanese! :)

In 1-2 years while the world economy is improving, you can study in Japan and obtain enough language ability to be able to live & work in Japan.

While you are here and learning the language, you will learn about the culture and meet people from all around the world with similar interests, building a wide international network.

Unlike studying for a degree that is not applicable for the real world, or where by the time you graduate the job is no longer in demand; learning a language is a skill that is always useful and will give you benefits throughout your whole life.

It is reassuring to keep in mind that in Japan, due to not enough number of people able to work, there are more jobs than applicants. The jobs to applicant ratio was 1.32 in April 2020 (still 1.32 in May 2023), which means there were about 132 job offers to every 100 workers.

You will have more choice and companies will even scout you and ask you to work for them. This is different to most other countries where there are too many graduates fighting just to get an interview for one position.

If you already have a degree, you can use this together with your language skills to apply for a work visa in Japan, after graduating language school. The school can support you to help find work and teach you the culture too.

Even if you are unsure about your career path, stepping out of your comfort zone and living in the country that you love will be sure to bring joy to your life and help you discover new opportunities that you cannot find online or in your home country.

Most companies will be more willing to hire you after you are actually living in Japan, and you can show you have the cultural experience and language ability.

Don’t wait any longer and apply for a long-term student visa course in Japan! If travel restrictions are still in effect, you can defer your course as well.
