General Japanese Plus Culture in Kyoto

Japanese Ability:

Complete beginners, up to intermediate (JLPT N3).

Recommended for: 

Experiencing life in the beautiful Kyoto. Learn the culture and language immersively.

Highlights: 

  • Half of the lessons focus on your choice of:
    • Reading & writing;
    • Practical conversation; or
    • Studying for the JLPT N4 or N3 (Japanese Language Proficiency Test, beginner to intermediate levels).
  • Half of the lessons are for experiencing the Japanese culture, by doing trips and cultural exchanges with Japanese people.

Practical Japanese Plus Traditional Culture in Tokyo and/or Fukuoka

Japanese Ability:

All levels.

Recommended for: 

Learning communicative Japanese & grammar, plus enjoying fun traditional cultural activities.

Highlights: 

  • Tokyo: Never-ending entertainment in the big city. Conveniently travel to famous places anywhere.
  • Fukuoka: Enjoy the beautiful beaches close by to the school. Known as the new silicon valley of Japan.
  • Choose to study at both Tokyo & Fukuoka/do some weeks of the pop culture course if you like.
  • Free activities organised everyday after class (Go out on Friday nights with students and some teachers to have a great time, do language exchanges with Japanese people & go on trips).

  • Each course is minimum 1 week. The cultural actitivies every Saturday is for a maximum of 4 weeks. If you wish to study longer, you can choose other courses or do the Practical Japanese course (just the core classes, see below) for longer.

  • Learn overall Japanese (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
  • Heavy emphasis on real-life skills.
  • Situations involve: Calling a movie theater to ask for showtimes, Ordering delivery sushi, Calling a restaurant to make reservations, Giving a questionnaire to people in the park, Asking for directions at the train station, Buying electronics and more.
