Homestay/Host Family

  • High cost

  • Stay up to 12 weeks (can extend while in Japan)

  • 2 meals a day provided

  • High amount of support; get treated as a member of the family.

  • Single rooms

  • 40 to 1 hr public transport to school (up to 90 mins in Summer)

  • Recommended for those who want to practice their Japanese, enjoy home-cooked Japanese food and learn the culture first-hand. Students under 18 should choose homestay.

  • 1 month fee: 170,500 JPY

  • (Includes placement fee, breakfast & dinner).

  • Extra 2,500 JPY per night will be charged for winter break (23-Dec~4-Jan)

  • Meals not provided; shared kitchen.

  • Shared living room and bathroom

  • Make friends with people of all nationalities.

  • Distance from 40 to 60 mins.

  • Recommended for those who want to make friends and learn about different cultures.

  • Double rooms available if you apply with a friend.

Weekly Mansion

  • High cost

  • High amount of privacy

  • Meals not provided; kitchen included.

  • Private bathroom

  • Single bed rooms. Double apartments available if 2 people are applying together.

  • Distance: 30 mins away.

  • Recommended for those staying for a short period of time, want to have private time for hobbies etc.

You do not need to decide on accommodation yet; simply if your would like the school to organise it or not.

School organises = Placement fee applies but simpler.

Organise Yourself = More time but you get to decide everything.
