Join this unique immersive course that combines Japanese language with culture, specially designed by Angela (internationally ME) and Sayaka (Take Me to Japan).

Study in the Japanese countryside and dive into the real Japanese culture.

What’s included:

• 20 Japanese lessons a week (Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 12:30 PM).

  • Using Genki textbooks, but the course is focused on practical use of Japanese that will be used after classes everyday.

  • Lesson outlines will be given based on the Japanese level after enrolling.

• Activities organised after class and on Saturdays.

• Have fun practicing Japanese after school with Angela, Sayaka and locals.

• Japanese cooking lesson

  • Learn how to make local specialities and home cooking favourites.

• Kabuki Theater

  • Tour one of Japan’s oldest kabuki theaters

• Guided Hikes

  • Enjoy the great outdoors as a friendly guide takes you up to one of the many mountains in the area.

• Bento box making (Magewappa)

  • Have a seasoned artisan teach you how to make your very own wooden magewappa bento box or serving tray.

• Japanese Culture Lesson at an authentic samurai estate

  • Learn calligraphy, tea ceremony, kimono wearing and more.

• Nagabashiri Wind Caves

  • A mysterious natural process cools these caves to 2 degrees celsius, even in the middle of Summer.

• Private movie screening

  • Rent out a retro movie theater to watch a movie of your choice on the big screen.

• Onsen trip

  • Visit any number of the many natural hot springs in the area.

• Daimonji Festival

  • Visit the festival with street food, fireworks and lighting of a giant “大”, ‘dai’ character on a mountain.

Optional Accommodation:

• Shared accommodation in a traditional Japanese house can be added for 20,000 JPY (179 USD) per week (limited availability).

• Hotel accommodation can be added for 33,500 JPY (300 USD) per week.
